The tapping block and pull bar are excellent if used carefully and with a bit of common sense. The tapping block is hard plastic, but if you use a rubber mallet to tap, it works fine. Note also, the tapping block has a flat surface, unlike some others which contour to the tongue/groove on laminate flooring, but if you are careful to place the block on the side of the laminate plank and not on the groove or tongue, you won't have any trouble. And remember, it's a tapping block, not a hammer block, so if you abuse it by not tapping, it may not last! But if handled properly it works great. I didn't find the spacers particularly useful if you extend the underlayment up the wall 1"-2" as the directions specify since the plastic tends to prevent the spacers from sitting where you put them. I found the spacers are really optional as long as you keep an eye on the gaps while you install. The pull bar is solid metal and works just like it should.
