Best buffer in the market
I have owned a Sander 1600 DC for 11 years. This machine is by far the best buffer I have ever owned in my 40 plus years of business. The indestructible Baldor motor along with excellent dust collection makes this machine a plus for anyone's business. It has never had to be repaired and has very robust design and construction. It is by far and away the best $1,900.00

Old design needs improvement
This sander/buffer design has not really changed in 15 years or so. It’s pretty heavy so it would be so much better with larger wheels for transporting, especially going up and down stairs. It would also be a good idea to have a twist connect power cord so that you can remove the heavy cord from the buffer. That would make it so much lighter for loading it up on the van. Obviously American Sanders staff have never spent any time in the field using this equipment otherwise improvements would have been made....during the last 15 years. The Bona dcs buffer is a much better choice for many reasons and it’s roughly the same price. I have both of these sander/buffers and I definitely wouldn’t recommend the Sander 1600DC. American Sanders you need to spend some time and money on research and development.
