D-Cut AK-360 Universal Flooring Cutter

Owned this for 4 years now. Light strip came off and had to glue it back on but the time and effort savings are incalculable for me. It's heavy but reasonably easy to transport with the setup. Original blade needs sharpening but works well still. Great for waterproof (wpc), vinyl planks(lvt). Worth every penny

Well built, somewhat versatile.
Won’t cut 12” tile as it only has 10” capacity for tile to slide through.
Notching cleanly requires turning over and cutting half way through on both sides. If you don’t you end up with tear out. It’s faster to use another tool to make a notch. If you only install tile under 10 inches wide you will love the tool. It is way too expensive to be limited to 10” wide material. Had I known it’s limitations I would have probably passed on it.

First the good: This tool is very solid and heavy duty. Most aspects of the tool are well thought out. The sliding blade for making notched cuts works well but takes some practice so you don't crack the fragile veneer where you don't want it.The built in light is nice but uses a 9v battery not supplied.

I purchased this tool at full price for a job where I was installing 12x24in floating click lock vinyl tiles. Be warned! It does not work for this size of tile. 14in is the size of the blade, but the supporting arm which allows you to make rip cuts DOES NOT allow planks of this size to pass through. The maximum cutting depth on this size of tile is only about 5.25 inches. I believe the real cutting width allowed is something like 10in, maybe less. This is because that supporting arm will block the piece from passing fully through the tool.

Advertising this as a 14in cutter is very misleading, and saying it can cut "all vinyl flooring" is also misleading. 12x24in tile and 12x12 in VCT are very common flooring vinyl types. For a 700$ tool, i would expect it to handle these. As is, it will only cut LVP of about 10in or less in plank width. I really wanted an all in one cutter!

Another major gripe i have this with tool is that there is zero support for making rip cuts. you must stack blocks to either side of the tool so that the vinyl plank doesn't bend and ruin your cut. This would again be easily solved by selling a support accessory that can slot into the tool!

The nail in the coffin for me was when i called D-Cut with my feedback and they basically told me to shut up and buy from a different brand. My suggestions would be easy to implement. For a 700$ vinyl flooring cutter I just expected more.

I purchased a Dewalt 10 inch table saw to do about 1200 ft2 of LVP, but found this gem on So That’s How You Do It. I bought it to not have to deal with all the dust that I had when doing my utility room with LVP and to minimize the trips up and down to the saw for cuts. This tool does it all (simple cuts, rip cuts, and cut around as) and does it very well. It’s built like a tank and will tackle any job. I highly recommend it for a better than professional looking job.

It’s an awesome cutter. Major game changer for a solo operation. Only down fall is the 9v battery for the light. Should be been AA batteries as they are cheaper and usually have them in my van unlike 9v.

Bought two, not complaining

I'm 52 and I've been sub contracting for 30 years so i know a good tool. I don't do floors a lot, but if i'm going to I want the best tools for the job. I've had this cutter for a month now and I've installed about 1100 sqft of laminate flooring and this tool is awesome. You can shave 1/16th off if you need to. One thing I always consider is the quality of a tool. Just because you pay more for a tool doesn't always mean that it's a quality tool. The D-Cut AK-360 is a quality tool and worth the extra money . I bought one and I don't do flooring all the time. But if you do flooring this is a must have tool, also the fact that you can do long cuts and L cuts with out any dust or noise just adds to the awesome factor. Just consider that If you do a floor in a clean finished house especially up stairs that you can do all your cuts with one tool and you don't have to drag out cords and power tools and create dust and noise, this one tool does it all with no dust and noise at all. Buy it....

I had my concerns about buying this tool sight unseen but I bought it anyway. It turned out to be a well packaged, hi quality precision tool. I was pleasantly surprised at it very convenient and thoughtful design. My wife and I installed 2000 ft of LVP and we couldn't have done it with without this tool.

I have had this cutter for approximately six months, I have used it to install thousands of square feet of LVP and I have yet to change the blade on it, with this cutter being able to make ripped cuts and notch cuts this is the only tool needed for installation while installing vinyl planks, this is a heavy duty made to last tool , I would highly recommend it to anyone who does vinyl plank, well worth the money

I've had this cutter for over a year and its done several thousand sqft of various vinyl plank and WPC. Its held up great and is invaluable. The blade being able to slide out to make notch cuts for door jambs is pretty much the main reason no other cutter comes close to being as good as this one. I have another simple cutter a Bullet 9in just for making end cuts but this thing will do all the type of cuts and I find my guys having to run over just to use this one if they're working in a different area. It may be time to buy another D-cut. I couldn't recommend it more.
