Measurements with the Electrode E12 are considered the industry standard in quality control. Moisture checks are recommended when the lumber comes off the truck, during storage, during various stages of manufacturing and at the inspection before shipping. Also for installing and inspecting hardwood floors.

As the teflonized pins are hammered towards the core consecutive readings indicate changes in moisture. Under or unevenly dried lumber can be easily detected.
