My favorite knife

I've been using these knives for 25 years and it's my favorite by far. I've gone through a lot of them, the single notch does wear out, however I wear out every other knife also. I think the size and feel of this one suits me the best. The only utility knife I will ever buy.

Good, not great

Blades break easily; the little round bump inside the knife which helps hold the blade in place via the hook of the unused side of the blade wears easily and eventually (like a few days of use) makes it so only one side of the blade can be used - once the blade breaks you cannot swap it end for end in the knife as there's no longer that curved bump to hold the blade if you do turn the blade around.

Cheap and useless

I bought this knife because of the price and realized its a piece of... I am too an installer who uses a utility knife. I bought 3 to have an extra and one for a helper. The notch wore down/broke after about 2-3 weeks of use, allowing the blade to slip right out while i was cutting. I thought maybe it was that single knife but it happened to all 3! For a pro its garbage. look elsewhere for a good utility knife.

Better than the Crain 730

I'm one of those oddball carpet guys that uses a utility knife instead of a traditional carpet knife. I've used the Crain 730 for 20+ years. I just tried this Roberts knife due to the similarities to the Crain 730 and because of the price. This Roberts knife is better as it can use any utility blade regardless of the amount of notches and still has a good choke on the blade to resist breakage of the blade with pressure applied. The Crain does not effectively use 3-notch blades.
