Sentinel 747 Plus Adhesive Remover, Gallon

SENTINEL 747 PLUS Adhesive Remover is a powerful, biodegradable formula designed to safely and effectively strip adhesives left behind after removing vinyl tile, sheet vinyl, indoor and outdoor carpeting and wood flooring. 747 PLUS is an environmentally-friendly, low-odor product that effectively removes a variety of adhesives without the use of harmful agents.

FLOOR TILE MASTIC REMOVAL:
1. If necessary, protect walls, drains, cracks, and other flooring with an absorbent (rags, kitty litter, sawdust) to keep liquefied mastic contained.
2. Wet adhesive with 747 PLUS. This may be done by using a sprayer or by mopping over the surface of the mastic. Allow 747 PLUS to soak and penetrate for 10-20 minutes until the mastic is saturated.
3. Scrape or squeegee the bulk of the softened or liquefied mastic from the surface with a floor scraper (razor scraper) or floor squeegee.
4. Wash and rinse the floor thoroughly with Sentinel 810 and water to ensure a clean surface. Allow to dry a minimum of 24 hours before installing new flooring.

It is limited, but useful.

This works great to remove clear by vinyl tile adhesive, but is limited on removing carpet adhesives. I have prepared floors on four different occasions and have tried different products and ideas. The best technique I have found is to buy a Diamabrush tool that goes on a floor buffer. It cost me a little over $400.00, but the process went faster, cleaner and was way less frustrating. I have used the Sentinel 747 with the tool in tough areas for better results.

Works! If you wait!!

I watched 25 tutorials and tried them all. Nothing worked! I chiseled for hours. I talked to chemists, floor experts, and concrete experts. This product works if you wait at least a half hour — more is better. Found in grout section of a Home Depot. I researched it. Gave it my last effort. The only scraper that worked it off in strips was a small window scraper with sharp blade. Strips revealed the concrete. Mopped up residue with Ivory Liquid but I will try this brand cleaner when I finish the rest of this job. I did a 5’ x 12’ section in about 4 hours. With other chemicals I did a 2’ x 2’ section in about 10 hours snd it’s still not finished. This has an oily feel and can be diluted. Hard layers I did full strength.

It Really Works

We had tried several products to remove the old tile adhesive off a concrete floor. This works, but it is a messy job. I recommend also purchasing the cleaner.

Great product

I'm a general contractor and recently purchased this product for a client's basement project. We were removing old linoleum adhesive from a concrete slab. My lead technician said that it was "easy to use" and "quickly removed it all", barely having to work the scraper. We used Zep Sweeping Compound to clean up the oily residue, which worked like a charm. The painter rolled the floor with an enamel the next day and the clients were amazed. Another 5 star review for us, thanks!

Very Good Product

Works really well and is nontoxic in enclosed areas versus other products. Only problem is the oily residue which prohibits solvent based sealers from curing. You MUST use a water based sealer if you are refinishing a floor.

It works, but this is a dirty job

I bought an old building and have been renovating it as a hobby. I pulled up all the ruined tile on the ground floor, planning to leave it as a plain slab for passive solar heating and soon found that every other stripper will just make old mastic (cutback adhesive) angry. I pour the 747 on full strength, come back a few hours later and mop up the tarry mess with degreaser and detergent and water. It's a slow, nasty job, and you have to use more product than you might think, but it does work.

Worked but wasn't easy

Used it to remove cutback from our cement floor. It worked reasonably well to soften up the main layer and turn it to goop. After that though it had to scrub the floor 3-4 times and there was still some patches that didn't clean before we ran out. Overall it did what it described but not quite as well as we had hoped.
