ROBERTS® 8502 Latex Carpet Seam Sealer is a high-quality natural latex adhesive formulated for seam sealing carpet, sealing raw edges, binding, strengthening worn backings and applying new backings on area rugs. Powered by Microban®, this antimicrobial product protection helps fight the growth of stain and odor-causing bacteria that can cause product degradation. For use only in interior installations, ROBERTS 8502 has excellent elasticity and stretching properties, and can be used to increase slip resistance on mats and rugs.

Bought this to restore stair treads I love that had crumbling backs
Went on the crumbling backs of my stair treads easily with a plastic putty knife. Does have a strong smell, but wasn't bad working in the garage with the door open. Dried clear. Treads are no longer crumbling, and new flexible latex made them non-slip. 1 qt covered 11- 9" x 37" treads. Will buy more to finish. Very pleased.

Works Great!
This is a wonderful product for saving a favorite rug with crumbling backing. Also works great to add rubber to an existing rug so it won't move easily underfoot on flooring. Easy to use a brush on with a durable paintbrush. But the bottle will dry out after being opened, so have everything prepared and ready to use in the next few hours. If not, it may become a rubbery mass in the bottle if you let it set too long.

Bargain
It was exactly what I needed. Had enough to put it on the backs of three small rugs. They stay put and it was much cheaper than replacing them.

Perfect for my job
I used the seaming adhesive to reinforce the back of a damaged oriental rug with burlap. It worked very well and was easy to use.
