The Kirb-Perfect Shower Curb is a stay-in-place plastic form for building perfect shower curbs. It is designed to be used with a pan liner and can be used with or without a 2 x 4 wood curb. Provides a cement backing for ceramic, porcelain or stone. Kirb-Perfect is 4-9/16" wide x 30" long and 5-1/2" high and can be combined for multiple length installations.

The Kirb-Perfect Shower Curb is a stay-in-place plastic form for building perfect shower curbs. Kirb-Perfect is designed to be used with a pan liner. It can be used with or without a 2 x 4 wood curb. With molded in dovetail connecting lugs, this curb can be used for multiple length installations. Each piece of the Kirb-Perfect Shower Curb is easily cut with a hacksaw, PVC cutters or angle grinder. Supplied with two (1-1/4" long) and eight (3/4" long) stainless steel self tapping screws and illustrated installation instructions. Kirb-Perfect is 4-9/16" wide x 30" long and 5-1/2" high.

Stop compromising your curbs!!!
Professional installer east coast and I agree with the other obvious pros comments. Most tile setters will almost do everything right up to the point where they nail CBU inside and on top of the curb. This is why this is one of the biggest area of failure in most showers. One nail into the copper pan or vinyl membrane and you've just compromised the integrity of your water containment system. Get a weep hole protector too! Another dopey move is when tile guys pack mortar directly on top of the weeping collar sub drain and thus defeating the entire pan liner drainage system. That, and most "tile guys" setting the liner flat on the subfloor without building a sloped mortar bed. And don't let your plumber install the liner, they STILL don't understand the concept and certainly won't mix mud the day before the install.

This is by far the easiest way to a perfect Curb. I'm a setter on the East coast and the plumbers here are still hung up on copper pans. Unfortunately too many so called tile installers will affix the inside portion of the CBU with roofing nails or screws and directly through the copper. All the general contractors i've come across just don't know any better and do the same.
The method is simple and installed the same way after a membrane wrap over studs. Drop the 'cage' over the existing wood framed curb, pack with mud, DONE! Of course you'll want to apply a coat of roll on membrane once dry to further protect the slab but the foundation for a worry free tile install is solid.
