This black plastic tapping block measures 3" x 7" x 3/4", with female grooves on one side and one end to mate with plank tongues. It fits tongue and groove joints in laminate planks to allow for tapping and moving planks by transmitting the force from a hammer or mallet, while protecting the edges of the plank. The large plastic handle makes it quick and easy to move and position.

When I find a good product I stock up
I ordered one of these about a year ago. I put it through alot of abuse as an installer and it's the best one I've used so I came back to order 2 more just in case. Who woulda thought a chunk of good plastic would be so hard to come by but so perfect for the job? I initially thought I'd remove the knob but DO NOT. Makes it so easy to snatch up and spin the way you need it. (Hint) once you finally beat it up too bad, run it through a table saw just to clean up that edge. With 3 of these, I have a lifetime supply!

Great tool
Ordered the Crain 563 Tapping block from T4F due to being fed up with far lesser quality blocks sold at the local blue box store. Like the feel and how both the leading and one edge fit the laminate. Have installed just a little over 800 sq ft with it so far and it does not show any signs of wear or damage at all (I only use a rubber hammer for tapping). Being the maintenance man for a a 26 unit apartment complex that is replacing the carpet with laminate while refurbishing vacant apartments the tapping block will be used a lot. If it or another tool is needed for the job or replaced they will come from Tools 4 Flooring. Great people to do business with, quick shipping and very good prices. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Tapping Block
i like the stepped edges on this tool. Makes it a little quicker to line up on the board. I marked the edges where the steps are to make it a little faster so I'm not hunting for the stepped edges. Didn't damage any flooring with this tool.

Perfect for the job
I bought this as an afterthought to getting the pull bar. This ended up being even more helpful for the job. Used it to install Pergo in a Master Bedroom and closet. Made bumping the pieces into place a breeze. No damage to any pieces.
